What is a Therapeutic Community?
The Foundation of Our Approach:
A therapeutic community is a structured, community-based treatment program that focuses on helping individuals heal through mutual support, personal responsibility, and emotional growth. At Holina Youth Village, residents actively participate in their recovery process and work together to build a safe and supportive environment. This model is designed to help teens and young adults learn from one another, build trust, and break down the barriers that often hinder their recovery.
Peer Support and Shared Responsibility:
In a therapeutic community, everyone has a role to play. Residents work together, share their experiences, and support each other’s healing process. By taking on responsibilities, teens and young adults develop a sense of purpose and ownership in their recovery journey. The peer support aspect of this model is key to rebuilding self-confidence and fostering personal responsibility.
